The Traveling Chalice will begin its journey through the homes of St. Paul the Apostle Parish starting the weekend of August 3, 2024. This new ministry responds to the Bishop’s call to pray for all religious vocations, with a primary focus on praying for increased priestly vocations. The Chalice symbolizes the Last Supper on Holy Thursday when Our Lord instituted both the Eucharist and the priesthood, making it a fitting object for this purpose.
Our Traveling Chalice, handcrafted in Jerusalem, accompanied Fr. Rob Mulderink during his studies throughout the Holy Land. Along with the Chalice, two rosaries and a small handheld cross, all made from olive wood by Christians in the Holy Land, will also travel. Included with the Chalice are prayer aids and a notebook for you to write a short reflection on your experience if you wish. After your week with the Chalice, please return it to the Parish Office by 3:00 pm on Friday, so it can be prepared for the next household.
Will you answer the call to host the Traveling Chalice in your home for a week to intentionally pray for an increase in priestly vocations? Sign up here, to host the Chalice. For any questions, contact Kathryn Nunzio at Kathryn.nunzio@gmail.com. May God bless you abundantly.
