For more than 15 years, our parish has provided ongoing support to our sister parish, St. Louis de Montfort Church and School in Port de Paix Haiti. St. Louis de Montfort parish is roughly the same size as our parish, but they have significant challenges to their Catholic mission: extreme poverty, corruption, and gang violence. Parish life is the center of Haitian life. The church offers well-attended services 7 days a week, and the busy parish school serves more than 200 students in grades K thru 6. The parishioners are generous, but because the parish is very poor, they operate their parish with a weekly offering of less than $100US.
